Junk Fashion Show 2016

See all shows

During the Junk Fashion Show in Kraków, audiences saw collections made entirely from paper as well as garments inspired by Gothic aesthetics. The event concluded the Eco Fashion Weekend, organized by SAPU, showcasing 300 looks on the runway at the Nowa Huta Cultural Centre.

First-year SAPU students were given a challenging task: to create outfits made exclusively from paper, designed to spark their imagination and creativity. They excelled, producing both unconventional, haute couture-inspired garments and pieces that were almost ready-to-wear.

For the 2016 Junk Fashion Show, renowned artist Marcin Giebułtowski flew in from London to present his original jewelry made from recycled materials. The collection was modeled by Anna Krzepkowska, a SAPU graduate from the previous year. Among the guests was also Michał Zaczyński, a distinguished fashion critic and SAPU friend, who gave a lecture to students the day before at the school.

Second-year SAPU students showcased outfits inspired by Gothic aesthetics, horror novels, romantic fantasy, and fairy-tale motifs. As in the first part of the show, the audience saw extraordinary, unconventional garments that could easily work as costumes for horror or fantasy films, while also reflecting current fashion trends.
