The School of Creative Photography (SKF) is a unique place on the European map, where photography meets fine arts, modern technology, and the realities of the professional industry. The quality of our education is confirmed by international recognition in prestigious rankings by Shotkit.com and Photoworkout.com, positioning the school among the world’s leading photography institutions.

This is the place for those who want to develop their talent, learn to work consciously with images, and create a portfolio that opens doors to a professional career. The SKF curriculum combines artistic and technical knowledge with hands-on practice, preparing students for work in various fields of photography – from fashion and reportage to advertising, post-production, and fine art photography.

SKF collaborates with the SAPU School of Art and Fashion Design and the Reklamex Models and Promotional Agency – meaning your photos can end up in the portfolios of professional models and feature at fashion shows. During your studies, you will complete numerous photo shoots – ranging from studio photography to reportage – and your work can be showcased at exhibitions and major events such as Cracow Fashion Week.

Our graduates work as freelancers, photojournalists, photo shoot producers for fashion magazines, wedding photographers, photo agency managers, and photo editors, as well as in advertising agencies and cultural institutions. Many of them run their own businesses in Poland (including Kraków, Warsaw, Katowice, Poznań, Wrocław, Łódź, and Rzeszów) and abroad—for example, in London. Others continue their education at prestigious universities, such as the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP), the Łódź Film School, UAP in Poznań, or the New York Film Academy.

The Krakow School of Art and Fashion Design, or KSA is the on the leading edge of the new wave in how Photography is taught. While most programs have lecture and study of Art History at their core, which KSA still does to a much smaller extent, KSA’s School of Creative Photography focuses more on learning through practice rather than through constant lecture. With darkrooms and digital studios always available to students, and free of charge at that, KSA seems to live by the motto of “Practice makes perfect.” Located in Krakow’s historic and bustling city center, the Krakow School of Art and Fashion Design is a display of modernity in art at its very best.

I have incredibly fond memories of my studies at KSA, and I sometimes miss the atmosphere, the challenges, and Ms. Marzena Kolarz, who, like no one else, knew how to bring out the best in us. Those four semesters at the School of Creative Photography gave me more than I could have ever dreamed of: they helped me believe in myself and my abilities, but also taught me to look at things with a critical eye. They frequently pushed me out of my comfort zone, and as a result, it turned out that many fields I considered completely foreign to me were closer to my heart than I ever could have imagined. I wouldn't trade those two years for anything.

I can recommend the Krakow Art Schools with a clear conscience when it comes to finding your place in the world, developing your talents, or simply trying your hand at the broad art of photography.

I remember the ordeal, the fights for the studio, my mind going blank when a nude model appeared in front of the lens. All that wretched pimple retouching and the assignment corrections, that boring product photography, the cold architecture, and the completely useless composition classes; and through it all, my clothes were dirty from paint and pencils. This School will give you only as much (and yet, so much) as you are willing to take from it. You can just coast through this school and get nothing out of it, or you can take advantage of the knowledge and experience, change your entire life, and open yourself up to new things. Anything is possible.

The School of Creative Photography provides so many wonderful memories over two years that it's very hard to pick just one thing. Ms. Marzena knew how to get us motivated for every class. I will remember all the teachers fondly, because I learned very useful things from each of them, and sometimes they told great anecdotes – especially the Director – which created a fantastic atmosphere during classes. I recommend the Krakow Art Schools to everyone – you can't describe it, you have to experience it!

This is the best school I have ever attended, and I'm so sad that SKF is only two years long. I recommend it to everyone who wants to learn not only photography but also how to perceive the world through the prism of a lens.

2 years in KSA was an amazing time. KSA is really specific in my opinion. That’s what I really liked about the school. The spirit and atmosphere. The teatrchers are very helpfull and open–minded what I appreciate the most. They let you be yourself. <3. (www.michaelametesova.com, www.partofstreet.com)

I’ve learned all areas of photography. It was a challenging English group. However it is a good opportunity to learn Polish in the place. School provides Polish classes included in the school price and teachers are always helpful. I highly recommend the school for its level of education. Also, the city itself is full of art / cultural activities.
