Junk Fashion Show 2015
Second-year SAPU students combined history with modernity, creating designs that incorporated the latest trends while referencing fashion of the past. They drew inspiration from art reproductions, such as the famous Mona Lisa, as well as regional and ethnic motifs, aligning with the slow fashion movement. The students demonstrated a deep understanding not only of fashion history but also of art history.
The Junk Fashion Show concluded the Eco Fashion Weekend, organized by Krakowskie Szkoły Artystyczne. Over three days, participants took part in ecology- and art-themed workshops, lectures, and exhibitions. At the KSA building on ul. Zamoyskiego 52, visitors could view the exhibition “Reincarnation of Objects”, showcasing applied art created by students of SWP.
The partners of the Junk Fashion Show awarded prizes to:
- Polski System Recyklingu Organizacja Odzysku Opakowań SA – Ilona Suska
- Tołpa – Anna Nawrocka
- Baroque Restaurant & Cocktail Bar – Kuba Rajtarski

Highlights
SAPU students in Kraków showcased their creativity during the Junk Fashion Show, presenting garments made from paper and recycled materials.
First-year SAPU students created designs entirely from paper, demonstrating that this material can be shaped in various ways to mimic fabrics. The show featured a wide range of ideas, from Nordic minimalist-inspired outfits to complex, sculpture-like constructions. Students displayed ingenuity in material selection, using items such as receipts, newspaper fragments, and even egg cartons.
