About school

The School of Theater and Film Directing prepares students for independent work as a director and for admission to directing programs at the Academy of Theatre Arts and film schools in Poland and abroad.

Classes are held in the form of masterclasses with outstanding directors, screenwriters, set designers, and choreographers. The original curriculum was designed by a specialist – director Michał Rzepka.

The program includes classes on character development, directing commercials, theater production, and above all, preparing a director’s script and creating a screenplay.

School of Directing Diploma

The School of Theater and Film Directing offers an intensive 9-month weekend program concluding with a Public Diploma.

  • 2 weekends a month, with 20 lesson hours (45 minutes each) per session
  • The condition for receiving the diploma is attendance at all classes
  • In exceptional cases, such as a student’s illness confirmed by a medical certificate, it is required to pass a colloquium on the topic of the missed classes, which involves additional costs
  • Limited number of places (approximately 12).

The School of Directing provides functional tools essential for the profession of a director and helps build a foundation of theoretical and practical knowledge related to theater and film.

Contexts and inspirations

  • An essential element of the School’s program is learning about the work of the most important theater directors and their working methods

The School facilitates collaboration with students of acting and fashion design, which allows for gaining practical skills in working with an actor or a set designer.
