An intensive time of fashion week is behind us. It is the fifteenth time that the capital of Malopolska boasts its own event that does not differ from the world level of such events. Cracow Fashion Week is one of the largest fashion events in Poland, which has already gained an international reputation.
Fashion on the catwalk, in pictures and in words
Every March, we have the immense pleasure of seeing fashion on numerous catwalks. We can discuss it with specialists, comment on it, experience it and watch it in photographs taken by enthusiasts of this art form. The event, organised by the School of Fashion Design, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, took place from 17 to 26 March. In addition to exciting fashion shows, the programme included exhibition openings, open masterclasses, free workshops, a book launch and many other attractions.

Fashion shows
The Cracow Fashion Week traditionally started with the SAPU Diploma Show – the Cracow Fashion Awards. This year, it took place on 17 March at the Open Source Conference Centre at 23 Życzkowskiego Street in Krakow. On the catwalk, we saw 49 diploma collections, which are a summary of 2.5 years of study at SAPU. The jury deliberating at the Premiere selected 15 exceptional collections, which we saw at the Cracow Fashion Awards Gala.
The winner of the 15th edition of the CFA was Julia Korzeniowska, who received the highest marks from the Fashion Council. Her surreal collection ‚Freak Show’, inspired by a 19th century freak circus, uses unconventional materials and is complemented by original accessories. The designer also received accolades for her graduation collection from Bielenda, Teekanne and FabLab. The Media Council, headed by Michał Zaczyński, awarded its prize to Aleksandra Baran. Other designers honoured included Kristina Netcal, Gabriela Kaznowska, Kinga Palider, Weronika Rymut, Gerald Gabriel Garrovillas, Angelika Witek, Kinga Źrałka, Filip Pękal, Martyna Marciniak and Meseret Lemeche.
