"Angelus et nihil" Piotr Czarnecki - KSA

Angelus et nihil to próba opowiedzenia językiem fotografii mitu katarów – wyznawców gnostyckiej sekty religijnej z czasów średniowiecza. Według ich barwnej mitologii ludzie są zamkniętymi w ciałach aniołami, które zostały zrzucone z nieba na ziemię, gdzie zły bóg zamknął je w materialnych ciałach. Życie każdego anioła w materialnym świecie, który przez katarów był utożsamiany z tytułową nicością podporządkowane było jednemu głównemu celowi – wyzwoleniu i powrotowi do nieba. Angelus et nihil ponownie odkrywa ten ponadczasowy mit, przybliżając go współczesnym ludziom.

Angelus et nihil is an attempt to tell the myth of the Cathars through photography – the followers of the Gnostic sect in the Middle Ages. According to their mythology, people are the angels locked in human bodies. They were discharged by an evil god from heaven to earth. The life of every angel in the material world, which the Cathars  identified as nothingness, was subject to one single aim – the liberation and return to heaven. Angelus et nihil rediscovers this timeless myth, making it familiar to a contemporary audience.
